Like many, my passion for photography started in high school. From the moment I watched my first photo develop in a darkroom, I became hopelessly addicted. Being the photo editor on the yearbook committee also taught me about storytelling, and how photos can tell stories that would otherwise have not been shared. That’s stuck with me ever since. So, I’m in the business of creating friendships, telling stories, and capturing moments in time. There are some special occasions in life that cannot be expressed in words—occasions that can only be described by the candid expression on a face. Where words fail, pictures speak.
That’s what I’m shooting for.
Being in front of the camera can be intimidating. I’ve always preferred to be in the background myself. That’s why I make it a priority to get to know the people I photograph. My enthusiasm, professionalism, and warmth help make the shooting environment less artificial, which breaks some of the tension and nervousness that come with staring down a camera lens.
In so doing, I typically set up a couple of meetings to get a feel for the things you like, enjoy doing, and your vision for photos as far as wardrobe, accessories, and location. I love hearing about each person’s unique story—how they’re personally growing whether as a mother, father, sister, brother, husband, wife, daughter, or son. I find that this in-person meeting makes the whole process a lot less stressful. There’s a sense of peace that overcomes you when you know that everything related to the photography session has been organized, coordinated, planned and thought out before you even arrive at the location. It brings me joy knowing my clients feel like they can let their hair down and enjoy themselves while I capture that moment.
I want to use my abilities and talents to capture what matters the most to you. I want your photos to transcend time. I want you to feel like you can hang any of my photographs on your wall as a reminder of that special moment in your life.
I myself am a mother to a beautiful, smart, sweet boy. He stole my heart when he was born thirteen years ago, and he’s been my inspiration ever since. Aside from my son, I have one four-legged child named Sky (Akita mix). My two little troublemakers, my family, and my personal growth are my highest values. Because time moves so quickly, even after a special occasion we’re left with the left-over nostalgic feelings of a series of fleeting moments in time. And if they’re not stored in your memory, they fade away without appreciation.
Photography is and always has been an expression of life. Every person has a story. Let’s connect and let me help you tell your story. Save these photographic treasures for years to come and share them with the future generations. Let's become friends and create something beautiful together!
